Sommarøy - The Arctic Caribbean

The apartments are heated by electricity, have a kitchen with fridge and dishwasher and a bathroom with shower and heated floor. The living room has floor to roof windows with sea and mountain view. The apartment at 1st floor also have heated floor at the entrance hall.




Apartments by the sea at Sommarøy, in the lagoon and only 100 meters from the beach. One hour (55 km) from bustling Tromsø, you come close to nature and environments. At winter the Northern Lights shine bright through the windows, at summertime you could sip to your favourite drink at midnight with the golden sun rays from the Midnight sun. The area has one hotel with restaurant, bar and cafe and a grocery store 10 minutes by foot from the apartments. Sommarøy island is known for its natural beauty and rich sea fishing in the sea between neighbor island Senja and Sommarøy. The archipelago is also famous for its sea kayaking and has numerous small beaches and islands to visit.

  • All windows that can be opened replaced in 2023 (38 + 39).
  • Balconies upgraded (38 + 39).

  • All beds were replaced in 2022 to 150 cm double beds (38+39).

Rentals

Each apartment are imposed to be rented to Sommarøy Arctic Hotel Tromsø a minimum of 28 days a year.

The rental price achieved by the hotel is shared 50 / 50 by  owner / hotel. The owner decides which period the cabin is to be rented by the hotel. When rented by the hotel, everything is taken care of by the hotel – cleaning, linen, towels, etc.

Economy

Annual expenses

The earning from rentals by the hotel has pay out every quarter. Common expenses for each cabin, approx 2950 kr / month is deducted before payout. On average one apartment has 115 k – 120 k Norwegian kroner pay out to the owner each year. Our family has blocked the rentals through the summer, using the cabin our self, so it is possibilities for even more rentals and income, or the other way – you could block rentals 11 months a year.

Kr. 600 NOK per apartment is paid directly to hotel (at reception) by owner for final cleaning after own use. 

Approx 2950 kr / month including electricity, heating, insurance, garbage, water, internet and more.
